Abstract

The rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and their widespread integration into all spheres of everyday life have introduced new mechanisms influencing individuals' cognitive, emotional, and social functioning. University students increasingly use AI tools for learning, conducting research, communication, and solving personal problems, which may increase the likelihood of developing emotional attachment and dependence on these technologies. According to the UNESCO Analytical Report (2025), most higher education institutions are developing regulatory frameworks for the use of artificial intelligence. At the same time, excessive reliance on AI, the decline of independent thinking, concerns regarding academic integrity, and the emergence of psychological dependence have been identified as pressing issues [70]. These challenges highlight the necessity of investigating not only the cognitive but also the emotional and socio-psychological consequences of AI use.ย
