CLINICAL AND IMMUNOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF ALLERGIC RHINITIS IN PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC HEPATITIS (A 10-YEAR LITERATURE REVIEW)
Abstract
Allergic rhinitis (AR) is an IgE-mediated chronic inflammation of the nasal mucosa affecting approximately 10โ20% of the world population and significantly reducing quality of life. Chronic hepatitis (CH), particularly its viral forms (HBV, HCV), not only damages liver tissue but also causes systemic immune dysregulation. According to current understanding, hepatotropic viruses replicate in lymphoid and non-lymphoid tissues, impairing the function of immunocompetent cells (lymphocytes) and altering the immune response at the organismal level. Therefore, in the setting of AR and CH comorbidity, both the immunological profile of allergic inflammation and its clinical course are expected to be modified, which is of practical importance for diagnosis and treatment selection.ย
