Abstract

This thesis studies the formation of the concept of values in Afghan-American literature and its symbolic interpretations using the examples of Khalid Hosseini's works "A Thousand Suns" and "Running After the Wind". At the same time, the research deeply illuminates the values such as longing for the homeland, female fortitude, family loyalty, human stability, forgiveness, spiritual revival through the images of the sun, wind, house, soil, women, storks and other symbols in the works of the writer. Through the symbolic interpretation of values in Afghan-American literature, Hosseini reveals not only the spirit of emigration, but also the inner spiritual world of Afghan society in a new literary form.
