EFFECTIVENESS OF OTOSURGERY IN CHRONIC SUPPURATIVE OTITIS MEDIA
Abstract
Conventional microscopic otologic surgery is constrained by restricted visualization of anatomically hidden middle ear recesses, contributing to reported residual disease rates ranging from 5% to 30%. The introduction of endoscopic ear surgery (EES) has improved visualization of these regions through panoramic, wide-angle imaging. Nevertheless, evidence regarding the superiority of endoscopic techniques over conventional microscopic surgery remains inconsistent.
