CLINICAL AND MORPHOLOGICAL SIGNIFICANCE OF Ki-67 AND p53 MARKERS IN MALIGNANT TUMORS OF THE SALIVARY GLANDS
Abstract
Malignant tumors of the salivary glands are relatively rare among head and neck oncopathologies; however, they are characterized by significant morphological diversity, variable clinical course, and a high risk of metastasis. Evaluation of the Ki-67 proliferative index and p53 marker expression plays an important role in determining the biological aggressiveness, invasiveness, and prognosis of these tumors.
