STRATEGIES TO IMPROVE STUDENTS’ WRITING SKILLS IN ENGLISH

This article explores theoretical and practical strategies aimed at improving students’ writing skills in English as a foreign language (EFL). Writing is considered one of the most essential yet challenging language skills for learners. The paper identifies key difficulties students face, such as limited vocabulary, grammatical inaccuracy, lack of coherence, and insufficient motivation. It then examines the writing process, cognitive and affective factors, and the role of teachers and technology in enhancing writing proficiency. The study concludes with pedagogical recommendations for developing effective writing instruction and assessment techniques in EFL contexts.
