This article examines the phenomenon of “false friends of the translator” in the triadic linguistic system of Uzbek, English, and German. In multilingual learning environments, translators and language learners often encounter lexical units that are similar in spelling or pronunciation but differ significantly in meaning. Such words frequently lead to translation errors and misunderstandings in intercultural communication. The study analyzes the linguistic nature of false friends and identifies typical examples occurring between English and German that may influence Uzbek learners. The research highlights the role of lexical interference and the importance of contextual interpretation in translation practice. The findings suggest that awareness of false friends and systematic comparison of lexical units in different languages can significantly improve translation accuracy and language competence.
