Translation of spatial adjectives presents significant challenges due to differences in semantic structure, lexical specificity, and cognitive conceptualization across languages. This article examines the main difficulties encountered when translating spatial adjectives from English into the Karakalpak language. Special attention is given to adjectives expressing vertical and horizontal dimensions such as high, tall, low, deep, wide, and narrow. The study analyzes semantic mismatches, polysemy, contextual dependence, and metaphorical extensions that complicate accurate translation. Through comparative examples, the paper demonstrates how English spatial adjectives often require contextual interpretation or paraphrasing in Karakalpak. The findings emphasize the importance of semantic awareness and cultural competence in translation practice.
