Аннотация

Anemia remains one of the most prevalent public health problems in Karakalpakstan, particularly among women, children, and adolescents. This article analyzes the major causes and consequences of anemia in the region, with special attention to nutritional deficiencies, environmental conditions, infectious diseases, and socio-economic factors. The findings indicate that iron deficiency, poor dietary diversity, environmental pollution related to the Aral Sea crisis, and limited access to healthcare services are key contributors to the high prevalence of anemia. The study also highlights the serious medical and social consequences of anemia, including impaired physical and cognitive development, decreased work productivity, and increased maternal and child health risks. The article emphasizes the importance of comprehensive prevention strategies, including nutritional interventions, environmental improvements, early diagnosis, and public health education. Addressing anemia in Karakalpakstan requires coordinated efforts from healthcare providers, policymakers, and communities to improve population health and quality of life
