This study examines the artistic portrayal of human nature and the concept of civilization in the works of William Golding, one of the most influential moral novelists of the twentieth century. Drawing on textual analysis, historical context, and symbolic interpretation, the research investigates how Golding represents the inherent duality within the human psyche—the tension between rational order and instinctive savagery. Special attention is given to the author’s use of allegory, psychological depth, and symbolic environments in novels such as Lord of the Flies, The Inheritors, and Pincher Martin
