Abstract

This thesis examines how pragmatic and cultural variables jointly shape politeness behavior in spoken and written interaction. The aim is to integrate speech act theory, facework, and intercultural pragmatics into an explanatory model suitable for multilingual contexts. Methods include qualitative discourse analysis, comparative pragmatic interpretation, and contextual parameterization of politeness strategies. Scientific novelty lies in linking culture-specific norms to measurable pragmatic triggers and proposing an operational framework for applied linguistic analysis.
