This article examines the role and significance of computer technologies in linguodidactics from a theoretical-historical perspective. A comparative analysis is conducted of the works of the founders of classical CALL theory, M.Warschauer and C.Chapelle, the research of Russian scholars L.A.Dunaeva and V.P.Zakharov on digital linguodidactics, as well as the studies of Uzbek and Kazakh linguists in the fields of computational linguistics and linguodidactics. The article consistently elucidates the impact of computer technologies on language teaching methodology, their didactic potential, and their place within the linguodidactic system. The research findings demonstrate that computer linguodidactics has emerged as an independent scientific field in recent decades, and its theoretical-methodological foundations have been enriched by various academic schools.
