Abstract

This article examines the linguistic representation of female characters in English and Uzbek detective fiction from a comparative perspective. The study focuses on the lexical, stylistic, and discourse features used to construct female images in detective narratives. The material of the research is based on selected extracts from English and Uzbek detective works. The analysis reveals that female characters are represented through culturally marked linguistic means that reflect social stereotypes, gender roles, and national values. The findings demonstrate both universal and culture-specific features in the verbal portrayal of women in detective discourse. The results contribute to gender-oriented literary linguistics and comparative stylistics
