This thesis explores the contemporary principles and practices of business management, emphasizing innovation, strategic alignment, and human capital development as the central pillars of sustainable organizational growth. Drawing from the Oxford IB Business Management framework, this study analyses the interdependence of major business functions—human resources, marketing, finance, and operations—and their evolution in the 21st century global market. Empirical data from OECD and World Bank sources illustrate how advanced economies, particularly the USA, Germany, and Japan, leverage innovation-driven strategies and strong human resource systems to maintain competitive advantage. The study concludes that effective business management requires an adaptive, ethically grounded, and innovation-oriented approach capable of balancing profitability with social and environmental responsibility.
