ANALYSIS OF THE APPLICATION OF MODERN TECHNOLOGIES IN OPEN-PIT MINING

Open-pit mining has been one of the oldest and most widely used methods for extracting mineral resources. With the increase in mining depths and production scales, the efficiency, safety, and environmental sustainability of open-pit operations have become critical challenges. This paper analyzes the development of open-pit mining technologies, with particular emphasis on deep quarries. Modern approaches to reducing overburden volumes, improving slope stability, optimizing transport systems, and increasing overall mining efficiency are examined. The application of advanced geomechanical models, computer-based optimization methods, autonomous equipment, and resource-saving technologies is discussed. Case studies from large international and Uzbek open-pit mines demonstrate that the optimization of quarry wall angles, mining sequences, and cyclic-flow technologies significantly enhances operational efficiency while reducing environmental impact. The results confirm that the sustainable development of deep open-pit mines requires an integrated technological and management approach.
