Abstract

Viral hepatitis C remains an important public health issue in Uzbekistan, characterized by a long asymptomatic course and delayed diagnosis. Recent nationwide screening has revealed moderate but uneven prevalence across regions, with higher rates among older age groups and men. Lower prevalence in younger cohorts reflects improvements in healthcare safety and infection control. Expanded screening and access to direct-acting antiviral therapy are changing the epidemiological landscape and creating opportunities for effective disease control.ย
