Hydronephrosis currently remains one of the most significant issues in nephrology and urology. The condition is characterized by the gradual dilation of the renal calyceal and pelvic system due to impaired urine outflow, which leads to atrophy of the renal parenchyma and a decrease in its functional capacity. The rising prevalence of hydronephrosis is associated with an increasing number of cases of urolithiasis, tumors of the urinary tract, and strictures, as well as with improvements in imaging diagnostics, which contribute to more frequent detection of the pathology [Ivanov, 2020].
