THE ROLE OF IMMUNE DYSREGULATION IN PERSISTENT CARDIORESPIRATORY SYMPTOMS AFTER COVID-19

This study examines the role of immune dysregulation in the development and persistence of cardiorespiratory symptoms following COVID-19. A comprehensive evaluation of clinical manifestations, functional capacity, inflammatory cytokines, lymphocyte subsets, and endothelial markers was performed. Patients with post-COVID cardiorespiratory complaints showed sustained inflammatory activation, impaired adaptive immune responses, and indicators of microvascular dysfunction. These immunological abnormalities correlated with dyspnea, tachycardia, reduced exercise tolerance, and prolonged recovery. The findings demonstrate that persistent immune imbalance is a key driver of post-COVID cardiorespiratory pathology and may serve as a basis for early identification of high-risk patients and targeted therapeutic strategies.
