This article analyzes the role and specific characteristics of the sericulture sector in national economic development. In the course of the research, the importance of the sector’s multi-stage value chain—mulberry cultivation, silkworm rearing, cocoon production, raw silk processing, and the manufacture of finished silk products—in enhancing economic efficiency is substantiated. The socio-economic role of sericulture in ensuring employment in rural areas, increasing household incomes, and supporting women and family-based entrepreneurship is also highlighted. Furthermore, the study evaluates the potential of the sector to enhance export capacity, contribute to the diversification of the national economy, and generate high value-added products. The findings indicate that the regulatory and legal framework established by the state, the introduction of innovative technologies, and the development of deep processing serve as key drivers of the sector’s sustainable growth.
