Abstract

Currently, the average production of cotton fiber on Earth is around 24-25 million tons, with the largest producers being China, India, the USA, Brazil, and Pakistan. In recent years, due to climate change, water scarcity, and rising temperatures, the yield of agricultural crops in some countries is declining. One of the main reasons for the decrease in yield and fiber quality in cotton growing is the influence of various abiotic factors, the main of which is the increase in global temperature and the decrease in water resources in the world. These factors are among the strongest ecological factors that reduce yield and fiber quality, and the creation of early-ripening, high-fiber quality, high-yielding, disease- and pest-resistant cotton varieties is relevant.
