Abstract

This thesis analyzes the methods of preparing grade 3–4 students for international mathematics assessments based on real-life examples. Taking into account the age and psychological characteristics of primary school students, the study justifies the effectiveness of using everyday life situations to develop mathematical literacy. Life-based tasks help students apply mathematical knowledge in practical contexts, which is one of the key requirements of international assessment programs such as TIMSS.
