Abstract

Artistic and aesthetic competence is the sum of an individual's abilities to perceive beauty in the environment, understand and evaluate works of art, as well as participate in creative activities. This competence is considered in pedagogy and psychology as one of the key factors in the comprehensive development of an individual. The structure of artistic and aesthetic competence consists of cognitive (knowledge-based), emotional (affective), activity-based (action and practical), and reflective (self-assessment) components, which function in close interconnection. The interplay of these components plays a crucial role in shaping an individual's aesthetic taste, enhancing their creative potential, and ensuring their adaptability to life. In this article, we will describe these components in detail and examine their interrelationships, which can be applied in the education system, particularly in preschool and primary education.
