Abstract

Ethylene oxide is currently the largest production product in petrochemical synthesis. Ethylene oxide is the most important raw material used in the production of large-tonnage chemical products, which is the basis for the production of various consumer goods in all industrially developed countries [1].

The main directions of the use of ethylene oxide are: ethylene glycols - used in the production of antifreezes, polyesters, polyethylene terephthalate (PET), gas drying agents, liquid heat carriers and solvents; polyethylene glycols - used in the production of perfumes, cosmetics, pharmaceutical preparations, lubricants, solvents and plasticizers for paints; ethylene glycol ethers - included in the composition of solvents for brake fluids, detergents, varnishes and paints; ethanolamines - used in soap, detergents, natural gas purification and fabric finishing; ethoxylates - used in the production of detergents as surfactants, emulsifiers and dispersifiers
