This thesis is devoted to the analysis of the poetic function of intertextual units formed on the basis of folk proverbs and stable expressions in the poetry of Komil Avaz and Gavhar Ibodullayeva. The study highlights the reinterpretation of folklore sources in the lyrical texts of poets, the transformation of the content of proverbs and expressions, their adaptation to the artistic context, and the formation of a new semantic layer. Also, the role of proverb-based and phrase-based intertexts in enriching the system of images, strengthening the ideological and artistic content, and expressing national aesthetic thought is scientifically revealed. By comparative analysis of the features of the use of folklore intertexts in the poetics of Komil Avaz and Gavhar Ibodullayeva, their individuality, similarities and differences in artistic style are determined.
