Abstract

This article examines the cultural and spiritual potential of the pedagogical heritage of the great encyclopedic scholars of Central Asia and its significance for contemporary education and upbringing. Particular attention is paid to the pedagogical ideas of such prominent thinkers as Abu Nasr al-Farabi, Abu Ali ibn Sina (Avicenna), Abu Rayhan al-Biruni, Muhammad al-Khwarizmi, Mirzo Ulugbek, and other scholars who made a significant contribution to the development of science, education, enlightenment, and spiritual culture in Central Asia. Their views on the humanistic nature of education, the pursuit of knowledge, independent thinking, moral development, teacher–student relationships, intellectual growth, and the cultivation of a morally mature individual are analyzed from the perspective of modern pedagogy. The study substantiates the pedagogical potential of their intellectual and cultural heritage in fostering students’ cognitive activity, strengthening national identity, developing spiritual and moral values, and cultivating respect for historical and cultural traditions. The findings demonstrate that the pedagogical heritage of Central Asian encyclopedic scholars can serve as an important educational resource for enriching the content of modern education, promoting intellectual and moral development, encouraging students’ interest in science and knowledge, and harmonizing national and universal human values.
