Abstract

In contemporary language education, the ability of future teachers to regulate their own learning has become increasingly important. Metacognitive skills, which include planning, monitoring, and evaluating one’s cognitive processes, are essential for effective teaching and lifelong learning. This study investigates the role of digital platforms in developing metacognitive skills among future English language teachers. The research is based on the integration of various digital tools into teacher education. The findings demonstrate that digital platforms significantly enhance students’ self-regulation, critical thinking, and learner autonomy. The study concludes that incorporating digital technologies into teacher training programs can improve the quality of language education.
