This article scientifically analyzes economic cycles and their specific phases, as well as the causes of economic fluctuations. In the context of a market economy, changes in production volume, investment activity, employment levels, and price dynamics are considered as the main indicators of the economic cycle. The article covers the causes of periods of economic growth and decline, the influence of external and internal factors, and mechanisms for mitigating their effects. Furthermore, the role of state policy and financial institutions in ensuring economic stability is specifically analyzed.
