Résumé

This article explores the sociolinguistic functions of phraseological euphemisms in modern media and political communication. Euphemisms are linguistic tools that allow speakers to express socially sensitive or controversial ideas in a manner acceptable to audiences. In media and politics, they serve not only as instruments of politeness but also as mechanisms of persuasion, ideology formation, and discourse manipulation. The research focuses on how phraseological euphemisms reflect social values, mitigate negative impressions, and sustain the power dynamics between communicators and their audiences. Through a sociolinguistic lens, euphemisms are viewed as indicators of cultural norms and political rhetoric shaping public perception. Consequently, they become essential components of communicative strategy, social harmony, and ideological control in contemporary English discourse.
