Résumé

This article examines the linguistic landscape of phytonyms in Uzbek folk riddles. The riddle genre relies on depicting the differential features of a plant concept (shape, color, internal structure, taste, location, and family relations) through metaphorical and anthropomorphic means, without directly naming the object. The study analyzes the role of folk worldview, national-cultural codes, and cognitive associations in the linguistic expression of phytonyms. Particular attention is paid to the onomasiological relationship between the riddle text and its answer, as well as the strategies of transferring human qualities to plants.
