The present study examines translation strategies used in rendering English media neologisms into Uzbek within a functional framework. In modern media discourse, neologisms emerge rapidly due to technological innovation and globalization, creating significant challenges for translators. The study adopts a qualitative approach and analyzes common strategies such as borrowing, calque, and descriptive translation. The findings show that borrowing is the most frequently used strategy in Uzbek media, particularly for globally recognized terms, while descriptive translation is applied when clarity is required. The research also highlights that the choice of translation strategy depends on communicative context, cultural familiarity, and linguistic structure. By integrating theoretical insights and practical examples, the study contributes to understanding how neologisms are effectively transferred between languages in media discourse.
