This article examines the development trends of communication and informatization services in Uzbekistan within the context of the digital economy based on an economic-statistical analysis. In the modern economic system, information and communication technology (ICT) infrastructure represents one of the key institutional and technological drivers of economic growth. The expansion of telecommunications networks, the development of digital service markets, and the emergence of new forms of economic activity based on electronic platforms significantly influence the structural transformation of the economy. The study analyzes the development dynamics of communication and informatization services, their impact on economic efficiency, and institutional changes within the service sector under the conditions of the digital economy. The research also evaluates Uzbekistan’s level of digital development using international indices and economic-statistical indicators. In particular, the E-Government Development Index, Global Innovation Index, Inclusive Internet Index, and global internet speed indicators are examined as important measures of the development level of the national ICT infrastructure. In addition, the study analyzes the dynamics of digital payment systems, fintech services, the IT startup ecosystem, and the e-commerce market based on statistical data.
The statistical analysis indicates that the number of bank cards exceeding 65 million, the growth of remote banking service users to 74 million, the annual growth rate of the e-commerce market reaching approximately 40 percent, and the stable expansion of the IT startup ecosystem demonstrate the increasing significance of the digital services sector in the national economy. Furthermore, the growing number of IT Park residents, increasing volumes of venture investments, and the development of the fintech ecosystem contribute positively to the formation of an innovation-driven economic environment.
The research findings show that the communication and informatization services system serves as an important strategic infrastructure within the processes of digital transformation of the national economy. The development of this sector contributes to the diversification of the service market, the emergence of new economic activities, and the acceleration of the transition toward an innovation-oriented economic model..
