This article analyzes the stages of formation and development of the preschool education system in Uzbekistan during the years of independence. It examines the changes that have taken place in the fields of pedagogy and methodology in the process of modernizing the education system, the introduction of the communicative approach, and the socio-pedagogical significance of preschool educational institutions. In addition, current issues in the field and prospective directions for future development are considered on a scientific and theoretical basis.
