Explaining complex scientific ideas in fields like chemistry and physics fundamentally relies on Multimodal Integration, the strategic combination of linguistic text and visuals (diagrams, graphs) to manage high cognitive demands. This study analyzes the discourse mechanisms driving effective integration, focusing on two critical factors. By detailing these integration strategies, the findings offer practical guidance for improving instructional material design, bridging the gap between abstract scientific models and successful comprehension, and maximizing knowledge transfer.
