Résumé

The article highlights the etiology, epidemiological factors, pathogenesis, clinical course, diagnostic principles, as well as modern approaches to the treatment and prevention of cholera. The primary pathogenic mechanism of the disease is emphasized as the enhanced intestinal secretion and electrolyte loss induced by the enterotoxin produced by Vibrio cholerae. The role of disrupted access to clean drinking water, inadequate sanitation and hygiene conditions, and seasonal factors in the development of cholera epidemics is analyzed. Specific features of clinical diagnosis and the life-saving importance of rapid rehydration are demonstrated, and the effectiveness of preventive measures in reducing epidemiological risk is substantiated
