Abstract

This thesis examines the principle of “aut dedere aut judicare” as it operates within the legal system of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The author analyzes the constitutional prohibition on extraditing Uzbek nationals, the way this prohibition is reconciled with the state’s international treaty obligations, and the mechanism through which criminal prosecution at home substitutes for extradition abroad.
