Abstract

The translation of emotional and expressive language in fiction represents one of the most demanding areas of literary translation because emotions are communicated not only through lexical meanings but also through stylistic choices, cultural associations, rhythm, metaphor, and contextual implications. This article analyzes the theoretical foundations of emotional language in fiction, examines major translation strategies, discusses linguistic and cultural challenges, and evaluates methods for preserving emotional equivalence across languages.
