MODERN DIGITAL TOOLS IN HUMAN ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY EDUCATION
Abstract
The rapid development of digital technologies has significantly transformed higher education, particularly in disciplines requiring visualization and practical application of complex scientific concepts. Human anatomy and physiology represent core biological sciences that demand comprehensive understanding of structural organization and physiological processes. Traditional teaching methods, while remaining valuable, often fail to provide sufficient visualization and interactive learning opportunities necessary for mastering these subjects. Modern digital tools, including learning management systems, virtual laboratories, three-dimensional anatomical models, multimedia resources, and online assessment platforms, offer new possibilities for improving educational quality and student engagement.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the educational effectiveness of modern digital technologies in teaching human anatomy and physiology and to identify their contribution to knowledge acquisition, practical competence, and digital literacy. A comparative pedagogical approach was applied involving undergraduate students studying biological sciences. Learning outcomes were evaluated through knowledge assessment, observation of practical skills, and analysis of student engagement.
The findings demonstrate that the integration of digital educational tools enhances students’ academic performance, promotes active learning, improves visualization of anatomical structures, and supports the development of independent learning skills. Furthermore, digital technologies contribute to increased motivation and prepare future biology teachers for professional activities in a technology-rich educational environment.
