Abstract

Listening is one of the most essential skills in language acquisition, as it forms the foundation for speaking, reading, and writing. Through listening, learners are exposed to correct pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, and intonation patterns of the target language. This article discusses the role of listening skills in language acquisition, the benefits of effective listening, challenges faced by learners, and practical strategies for developing listening competence in the language classroom. Emphasizing listening activities can significantly enhance overall language proficiency and communicative ability
