Abstract

This paper examines how grammatical categories are used in comparative linguistic analysis, especially between the English and the Uzbek and the English and the Russian. Grammatical categories like tense, aspect, number, gender, case, mood, and voice are central terms in the structure of languages and are the ways that languages encode the meaning and grammatical relations. The paper provides similarities and differences in achieving this group in languages and shows how comparative analysis can be used in linguistic theory, typology, and second language acquisition. The paper posits that grammar categories form a powerful model to explain the cross linguistic variation and resolve problems in learning the English language in education..
