MIRZO ULUGBEK: HIS CONTRIBUTION TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF SCIENCE AND CULTURE

This article examines the scientific and cultural contributions of Mirzo Ulugbek, one of the greatest scholars of the Timurid Renaissance. Although known as a statesman, Ulugbek’s true legacy lies in his extraordinary achievements in astronomy, mathematics, education, and intellectual development. The paper analyzes the scientific significance of the Samarkand Observatory, the content and impact of the Zij-i Jadid-i Ko‘ragoniy, his educational and scholarly institutions, and the influence of his scientific school on later generations. Ulugbek’s role in shaping intellectual life in Central Asia and contributing to the global history of science is also discussed in depth.
