This thesis examines the critical role of vocabulary acquisition in foreign language learning. Vocabulary forms the foundation of language competence, enabling learners to communicate effectively, comprehend texts, and engage in both spoken and written discourse. The study emphasizes the relationship between vocabulary knowledge and language proficiency, highlights key strategies for vocabulary development, and discusses challenges faced by learners in acquiring new words. Evidence from linguistic research and language pedagogy is analyzed to provide insights into effective vocabulary instruction.
