According to the World Health Organization, nearly 33 million people worldwide suffer from chronic rheumatic heart disease, and annually over 300,000 deaths are associated with this disease. Among rheumatic heart defects, mitral valve involvement is the most common, which, when prolonged, leads to the development of chronic heart failure (CHF). CHF is a pathological condition with a high prevalence rate and adverse outcomes, and an in-depth study of its pathogenesis is a relevant scientific and practical problem.
