Abstract

This article illustrates the fundamental differences between spoken and written discourse within the study of discourse analysis. It highlights structural, linguistic, and pragmatic distinctions, showing how each field of communication serves different purposes in human interaction. The analysis demonstrates that spoken discourse relies heavily on context, and human interaction, whereas written discourse emphasizes clear planning, organization, and permanency.
