Abstract

This scientific paper examines the process of neologism formation in contemporary English with particular attention to derivational mechanisms that contribute to vocabulary expansion. The study explores how modern communication environments, especially digital media and social interaction, stimulate the emergence of new lexical units and influence patterns of word formation. The analysis focuses on the productivity of derivational processes and their interaction with social, technological, and cultural developments that shape modern language use. Special attention is given to how new words adapt to communicative needs while maintaining structural consistency within the language system. The research highlights the importance of understanding morphological processes for interpreting and analyzing emerging vocabulary in modern discourse. Overall, the research paper demonstrates that neologism formation reflects ongoing linguistic adaptation to changing social realities and emphasizes the relevance of derivational processes in describing contemporary language development and communicative practices..
