Abstract

This thesis explores Charles Dickens as a leading promoter of humanism and critic of social injustice in Victorian England. His novel “Great Expectations” reveals harsh realities of industrial society like poverty, child labor and class inequality. Through compassionate characters, Dickens unveils the cruelty of social institutions while emphasizing moral integrity, empathy and human dignity as foundation for social reform
