THE IMPACT OF ROLE-PLAYING ON DEVELOPING SPEAKING SKILLS OF INTERMEDIATE EFL LEARNERS

This study investigates the effectiveness of role-playing activities in improving the speaking and listening skills of intermediate English learners aged 15–20 at a private language learning center in Tashkent. Over one month, 12 lessons were conducted, with role-playing elements integrated into selected classes. Findings show that about 60% of participants demonstrated notable improvement in speaking and listening performance, while others reported increased confidence and motivation. The results confirm that role-playing is a powerful educational technology that fosters communicative competence and intrinsic motivation.
