ANALYSIS OF RESEARCH ON THE CHARACTERISTICS OF NEOLITHIC SITES OF TURAN IN IRANIAN HISTORIOGRAPHY

This article highlights the scholarly perspectives of Iranian researchers regarding the commonalities and distinctive features of Turan’s Neolithic sites in comparison with material culture samples from neighboring regions. In the analysis of interregional comparisons, the Neolithic sites of Turan are examined primarily through their integral connection with historical processes on the Iranian Plateau and in the Near East. Specifically, the study elucidates the essence of research concerning the sites of Iran’s Gorgan Plain—a region extending across the southeastern basin of the Caspian Sea, the northern Alborz Mountains, and the western fringes of the Karakum Desert.
