The rapid advancement of the digital economy necessitates the widespread adoption of metacognitive strategies within education systems, as contemporary labor markets increasingly demand professionals equipped with self-regulatory, reflective, and digital competencies. In recent years, numerous experimental studies have examined the effectiveness of metacognitive approaches integrated with digital learning platforms as well as distance and blended learning models. The purpose of this article is to conduct a systematic analysis of the effectiveness of employing metacognitive strategies in the context of the digital economy. The findings indicate that metacognitive strategies integrated with digital platforms significantly enhance students’ attention, academic performance, digital literacy, self-regulation skills, and motivation for learning. At the same time, the effectiveness of these strategies is strongly influenced by teachers’ metacognitive pedagogical literacy, the quality of digital infrastructure, and students’ initial levels of preparedness.
