Résumé

Motivation plays a crucial role in language learning, particularly for non-native speakers learning English for academic, professional, or social purposes. Engineers, who may possess strong analytical and technical abilities, often face unique psychological challenges when learning English. This article explores the psychological factors that affect motivation in learning English among engineers, examining cognitive, emotional, social, and cultural influences. The interplay between intrinsic and extrinsic motivation is discussed in the context of engineering students and professionals, alongside strategies that can enhance their motivation to learn the language. Understanding these factors can provide valuable insights for language instructors and educational policymakers to tailor their teaching strategies and materials to better engage this specific group of learners.
