This article explores the art of costume design in Uzbek cinematography during the period from the 1920s to the 1980s. It examines the evolution of costume artistry at the Uzbekfilm studio and analyzes the contribution of production designers to the development of the visual language of national cinema. The study emphasizes the cultural and historical functions of costume as a means of preserving and transmitting traditional Uzbek values within the cinematic framework.
